Heathens: Your thoughts on this quote?

I am 100% in agreeance. Religion, especially its modern expression seems to be defined as the way one relates to gods and goddesses. This is but a small facet of a Folkway. Die Sitte can be translated as The Custom, which definitely fits in with the concept of culture and Folkway. To compare Heathenry with Religion is indeed comparing something that encompases how one lives ones life with not only the gods and goddesses, but our ancestors, the vaettir (spirits) as well as the people whom are ones kith and kin, with something that only addresses how one relates to deity. It is one reason why I believe it takes far longer for someone whom comes to the Folkways, to integrate the Folkway, than someone whom merely becomes a worshipper of a particular god or goddess.
