In the Yahoo! fantasy baseball leagues how does the retroactive stats work?

I am the commissioner of my league and just entered the players. I want the stats to count for all the games that have played so far this year. I have not "started" the league yet because in the settings screen it shows that the stats won't start til April 4th.
