How can I use these English idioms?
We should all GET ALONG with one another instead of punching and hitting and yelling. However when someone is trying to GET AHEAD they often do it by screwing the competition and kissing up to the boss. It is hard to GET ACROSS the idea of personal integrity to someone for whom the concept is completely foreign. It is difficult to GET ACROSS what you are looking for in a hardware store if you don't know what the doohickey is called. I have a hard time GETTING ALONG with jerks who try to GET AHEAD OF me in line. Of course it is hard to GET ABOUT if you have neither bus service or trains or a motor vehicle.
