Do I need the spyder rechargeable battery for my spyder rocking trigger or can i just use any 9.6v battery?

I bought my spyder rocking trigger and it didn't come with the rechargeable battery so i put a regular 9.6v battery in it and it says it has a low battery and automatically turns on safety if you shoot too fast... It was a brand new battery so I know it wasn't a low battery... If thats not the problem ten cam you tell me what you think it is??? Thank you for your help...
